Winter

Briskly the winds blow
As frost penetrates deeply
Winter is coming.

Poem-A-Day Campaign

I'm writing this to invite you, Mary, to a poem a day "write-down" from Monday of next week until Dec. 31st. This will help us hone our skills and hopefully get to share some good thoughts. Make sure you use different styles as well. Personally, I haven't read a good limerick or haiku in a while. I don't know what an ode is, but I think I'll do a little research since I haven't touched anything outside of free form in a while. Here is the link for poetry.

Let me know...ARE YOU SENSITIVE ENOUGH!

for jim

Mindlessly you way a flag
The winds embrace feels like god is with you
to fight your fight, our fight, the good fight right?
but the truth behind those stripes
the lies the stars hide
blindly walking towards disaster
the faith you have, they have in you
killing in the name of freedom
like killing in the name of god
is both wrong and unforgivable
God is watching the mistakes made in free will
he cries for US
righteousness is a untamed beast
respect the only whip
believing in something doesn't make it right or true
take hold
remember what it is you stand for
or forever feel the permanence of sitting

I need some good stuff

There is a really good essay on abovetopsecret.com.   I need you to right a poem or draw a picture inspired by this.

Cool Photos

I never saw this before...camera-less photos?  They are amazing nonetheless.
